A Whole New World Of Yoga Practice
/Dear Yogis
Unexpected side-effects of the lock-down... Are you saving water on the showering and spending it all on the hand-washing? Are you hands dry and splitting yet?! Are you finally eating the forgotten things in the freezer? And are you enjoying yoga online more than you could have ever imagined? There’s no travelling, no tackling transport, no rushing to class and rushing home. New problems to do with camera angles, audio, and cats and dogs joining the class have taken us into a whole new world of yoga practice. (Yoga with Adriene has more than tripled her daily audience to more than 1.5m views in the last two weeks). So far I’ve only heard positive comments:
“I felt more motivated and stronger than doing my self-practice”
“It was fun using Zoom”
“Amazing to be able to do your class after ages”
“Didn’t quite feel right at first but once we got going it was worth it, just what I needed”
Home Studio
Is there anyone left who hasn’t downloaded Zoom? Download Zoom here - it's free. Instead of having a maximum of 6 people in class, the Home Studio classes this week have all had 20 or more yogis. It’s lovely!

You don't have to turn your camera on and be visible if you don't want to. It's totally up to you. Join the 'meeting' early, just to make sure. Note the time - it's different to usual: 7.00-8.00pm. Please let me know if you would prefer an earlier time because of your dinner time! Let’s see what the consensus says. Evening classes from my studio are free so have a go. I figure we could all do with something that's a no-brainer
Yoga in the news
The Independent has: Coronavirus: From yoga to Barry's Bootcamp. “Yogo and pilates studio Triyoga has announced it is going to be offering free online classes, which will run six days a week from Monday to Saturday and will be bookable through the studio’s website.”
BBC News has: Coronavirus: Leicestershire laughter yoga helping to cheer self-isolated. If you ever wondered what Laughter yoga looks like... could it be like this?
If this Coronavirus era and/or its social side effects have had a heavy impact on your life, I’m so sorry and I’m making extra room in my heart available for you.
