Easter Yoga: Death and Resurrection

Dear Yogis

Happy Easter! The traditional story of death and resurrection is taking on a metaphorical meaning for our culture and society, eh! Many people contemplate the rebirth that’s coming. Will we keep some of the gains of lock-down? For example, did you hear the loud and proud dawn chorus? Some of us are dealing with tough times. Some of us are bored. Some of us are really quite pleased with the lock-down. Does yoga help?

Well, in the most obvious way, it is something to get up for in the morning or something to look forward to in the evening. Any routine instead of swirling through the day is good! Senior teachers are within reach and less intimidating online. You can try new things. You can invite housemates to join you – perhaps they are new to yoga and perhaps you get to share something you care about with someone you care about. That might turn out to be special.

The message of yoga philosophy is a positive one for these times: stay focused, keep practicing, take nothing personally, learn to accept fairness and unfairness alike, take steps to prevent the mind from falling into whirlpools of excess thought.

What Our Yogis Are Doing

Last week we had 106 Coffee  bread and pastry deliveries. Tell me what you’re doing if you want fellow yogis to know about it. Till then, a few people wrote to me to say that my beloved teacher, David Swenson, will be teaching online for Triyoga every Saturday at 4.30-6.30pm, from wherever he is in the world, maybe Maui!  Also, you can read ommagazine.com free online.

Home Studio Zoom Classes

I was hoping the super duper conferencing equipment would be ready by now, which it is... but my laptop processor is rubbish! However, a new PC is coming and it’s not long now before a bit more professionalism will touch the Home Studio classes. Zoom also allows a background so we can practice in Kythera after all with Kapsali Bay and Aphrodite’s Rock in the background!

I’m teaching on Easter Monday. We’re locked down so there’s no reason not to! Details for joining the classes below. Same as before.

Note the time - 7.00-8.00pm.

Evening classes from my studio are free so have a go. Some of you have asked if you can make a donation. Well, I genuinely want to offer these classes for free so you’re more than welcome to join. Charging will start at some point.
